Ginkgo biloba 'Katlan' is a Hungarian selection. It is probably a male form (as no fruit have been observed on trees to date). It was introduced by Dr. Elemar Barabit from Sopron, Hungary.
Description - Ginkgo biloba 'Katlan'. The foliage is typical of the species. The growth rate is 30cm – 40cma year. If the leader is not pruned out (unlike the plants in the image below), it develops a columnar shape reaching a height of 7m - 10m with a spread of approximately 2m. However, as the tree ages it becomes broader and eventually more umbrella shaped.
