Ginkgo biloba ‘Cleveland’ syn. CLEVELANDS GOLDEN GLOBE® (Knowen in China as ‘Jin Qiu’) is a very good male cultivar. It was discovered by David Cleveland in 1990 as a chance seedling in Fort Valley, Georgia, in the U.S.A. and bears his name. Not to be confused with the City of Cleveland in the state of Ohio.
Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘Golden Globe' syn. with Ginkgo biloba CLEVELANDS GOLDEN GLOBE® is unusually dense for a Ginkgo. The growth rate is considered slow to moderate approximately 20cm year. The tree has unusually dense branching habit, young trees have full crowns that mature into a broad rounded head. You an expect it to grow 3m - 4m in height with a spread of 2m – 3m m in 10 years. The leaves turn a striking bright golden yellow in the Autumn.
