Ginkgo biloba 'Eiffel' is a relatively new cultivar, dating back to the year 2000. It comes from Italy from the Nursery of Giuseppe di Bonacchi Danilo, San Perino Casa al Viscose, Pistoia, Italy. It was selected because of its habit making it an ideal street tree, or for planting where space is ultimately limited.
Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘Eiffel’ ,The foliage is typical of the species, 4-7 cm wide, fan-shaped, divided, mid green that change to fantastic shade of bright golden yellow in autumn. It grows 20cm - 40 cm per year. In 10 years it will have reached a height of 3m with a narrow crown less than 1m in width .The ultimate height of this variety is yet to be determined but is expected to reach about 10m, the spread is estimated to be approximately 2 - 3 m.
