Ginkgo biloba 'Compacta' originated in the United Kindom and was introduced in 1973. In almost every respect it is similar to the species with good autumn colour. It varies in its habit with a comnpact and dense crown, rather colunar in habit which makes it useful for street planing in the urban landscape. Height 8 to 10 m, spread 3-4 m.
