Ginkgo biloba ‘BZN’ was bred by A.C .van Aart from Oudenbosch from the Netherlands. It received its final designation in 2007 and was officially launched in 2011.
Dirk van Gelderen from the tree nursery Esveld in the Netherlands stated that ”The strange name consists of the abbreviations of the folk music group "Band Zonder Naam, after which this Ginkgo was named”.
Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘BZN’ is a dwarf, which has foliage that curl slightly inwards, and occasionally backwards and underneath. It also has twisted branches. It is interesting to note that these changes are only evident in the previous year's leaves and older branches, while the current seasons growth is different. It is considered to be a dwarf, the growth rate can be 10cm to 35cm a year. The expected height is 2m with a spread of 1m.
