This cultivar was selected by Günther Diamant many years ago(in the 80’s) at the Leendertz Nursery Germany. He planted it at his arboretum in Duisburg. In 2012 the Herrenkampner Gärten nursery began to propagate it and release it into the trade. There is a very old specimen is in the perennial nursery Diamant in Duisburg.
 
Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘Berthold Leendertz is a male form similar in many ways to Ginkgo biloba ‘Tit’, however it is even narrower in spread and does not get higher than 3m - 4m even when mature and the leaves are more elongated than with 'Tit' and slightly curled at the edge.
