Ginkgo biloba 'Beijing Gold' STREEP® is a spectacular new introduction originating from China. A specimen was planted in the Rotterdam Arboretum and it found its way into the Dutch Nursery trade from which it was introduced in 2003.
 
Description - Ginkgo biloba 'Beijing Gold' the sex is not yet known, but it expected to be a female cultivar. The new leaves are a pleasing golden yellow as they emerge in the spring, gradually turning darker with age with white variegation. In the autumn the foliage turn a rich butter yellow before falling from the tree. It is suggested that this is the only variegated cultivar that will not revert, only time will tell! The growth rate is reported to be 20cm a year and the plant is expected to attain 4m in spread with a height of 4m.
